Raymond Berry – one of the organisers of London’s East End Pride festival – has resigned after his past involvement with the English Defence League was uncovered.
The inaugural East End Pride was planned for 2 April, and was organised in response to a homophobic sticker campaign across the area. The stickers read, “Arise and warn. Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment.”
Berry allegedly helped found the English Defence League and it is said he is an active member of groups such as Stop The Islamification of Britain.
