“As part of our ongoing commitment to the BAME community, we are delighted to support UK Black Pride.”

DIVA, Europe’s leading magazine for lesbians and bisexual women, is very proud to be a headline sponsor for this year’s UK Black Pride.

DIVA Publisher Linda Riley said:

“As part of our ongoing commitment to the BAME community, we are delighted to be able to support and be a headline sponsor for UK Black Pride for the first time ever this year.”

In her latest column for DIVA, UK Black Pride Co-founder and Director Phyll Opoku-Gyimah explains more about this amazing event:

“UK Black Pride’s mission is to promote unity and co-operation among all black people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and Latin American descent, as well as their friends and families, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or intersex.”

She adds:

“Our aim is to foster, present and celebrate black LGBT culture through education, the arts, cultural events and advocacy. UK Black Pride works closely with Paris Black Pride as well as showing solidarity with Black Prides in the US and Canada.”

You can read more about the origins of UK Black Pride and why it is so important in the June issue of DIVA, available to buy in print or digitally here.

This year’s event will be held 12pm – 7pm on 9 July at London’s Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens. For more details check out ukblackpride.org.uk.
