Construction News has launched a survey to investigate the industry’s attitudes towards LGBT+people – an area that there is a need for more research and support.

Last year, they revealed that just 7 per cent of LGB employees within the industry would recommend construction as a ‘great place to work’, with over two-thirds of staff reporting having hears offensive or homophobic comments.

This year is the first time that transgender people have been included in the survey.

They are asking for your help to get responses to the survey which takes just a couple of  minutes to complete and can be completely anonymous.

It will give fresh insight into the obstacles faced and help give critical support to a demographic that faces unique challenges within the industry.

The survey is open to contractors, consultants, property professionals, engineers, surveyors, students and architects.

Data will be used in both print and online articles and will provide an understanding into how the industry treats its LGBT+ employees.

Fill out the survey here.

This survey is being run in collaboration with CN’s sister titles, the Architects’ Journal and New Civil Engineer
