“Let’s stand up for Manchester and show them that we care.”

At her Las Vegas show, Celine Dion chose to honour the victims of Monday night’s devastating bomb attack in Manchester.

The legendary singer asked the entire audience to stand up together, clasp hands with the person next to them and raise their hands high. The whole theatre came to a standstill, sharing a moment’s silence in remembrance of the victims of the horrific attack.

Celine addressed the crowd:

“Let’s stand up for Manchester and show them that we care. We’re filming this and we’re going to send it across the ocean to those beautiful souls.”

It has now been confirmed that 22 people tragically lost their lives as a result of the attack on Manchester Arena, which took place at the end of an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night. At least 59 more were injured.

As the names of the victims have started to be released, we have learned that Martyn Hett, a young gay man and Coronation superfan was among them. The youngest victim was 8-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos.

Counter-terrorism police are investigating the matter. The Prime Minister has raised the official UK threat level from severe to critical, meaning that a second attack could be imminent. Soldiers have been deployed to high-risk areas to help safeguard the British population.
