Brooke Fantelli, a well-known figure in the American off-road racing community, was allegedly stopped by a ranger during a photo shoot in the desert last month. Fantelli had been living as a woman for some time but had not yet been able to change her identification. According to Fantelli, it was when the ranger saw her identification that he became hostile.

“He actually looked me straight in the eye and says, ‘You used to be a guy,’ and I said, ‘Yes, I did.’ There was no way around it. I could see it in his eyes. He wanted to do that,” Fantelli told San Diego’s 10News last month.

The interaction, which was caught on camera, is now on YouTube.  In the video Fantelli can be seen with her hands up, talking to officers, before being tasered in the stomach and falling to the ground in agony, with the ranger then allegedly tasering her for a second time in the crotch.

Fantelli said of the incident: ‘There’s no way to put it, it’s just plain out brutal, plain out brutal.’
