BradPittBrad Pitt has agreed to contribute $100,000 in a bid to push for same-sex marriage in several US states.

The 48-year-old actor’s donation will match contributions from members of the Human Rights Campaign – America’s largest gay rights group – helping them to finance their campaign for the initiative, the Telegraph reported.

In an e-mail to Human Rights Campaign members, the ‘Troy’ star wrote that it is “unbelievable” that people’s relationships will be put to a vote on the day of the elections.

Same-sex marriage will be on the ballot in Maryland, Maine, Minnesota and Washington state.

The Washington DC-based Human Rights Campaign said that it has spent 8 million dollars to push for marriage equality for gays and lesbians over the past two years, including 5 million dollars in the four ballot measures this year.
