rainbow_TVThe BBC is planning to find their next hit sitcom by filming 6 new pilots including an adaption of the US show It Takes a Village.

The story will tell the story of a 13-year-old math genius called George whose parents split, his mother remarrying and his dad moving across the road to live with his new boyfriend.

The show was originally made as a TV movie in the US, though at the time it was panned for relying too heavily on stereotypical gay clichés.

If It Takes a Village is made into a full series it will be one of 3 new programmes being made with a gay theme on British TV in 2013.

Lesbian Comic Sue Perkins is writing and starring in a new series about a gay women who is yet to come out to her parents and Sirs Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi star in ITV comedy titled ‘Vicious Old Queens’.
