Akram Adham, 31, and his partner Jamie Stott, 33, created the account to document their move from their previous flats into a Fawley style home at Barratt’s J One Seven development on Old Mill Road.
“Prior to moving, we were both living separately,” said Akram, an Advertising Manager originally from Manchester. “I sold my flat and moved in with Jamie when we finally decided to live together, but we were both looking ahead for a house with more space and somewhere we can grow into long term.”
Jamie, a Service Manager also from Manchester, said: “Once we’d found a home that we were interested in at J One Seven, we sold my flat and rented a property until we could move in.
“The profits from our previous properties were a great help, and we combined them with our savings. We only altered our lifestyles after reserving to cover all of the added extras we wanted for the house.”
The couple’s flair for design can be seen on their Instagram account, updated regularly with pictures of their individual style and additions to their Barratt home.
Showing off an elegant design, the couple’s home features colourful feature walls and contemporary artwork spread across three storeys and four bedrooms.
Akram is no stranger to a Barratt home, having previously owned an apartment at the sold-out Pennine View development in Hattersley. He said: “I had previous knowledge of the builder before we moved into J One Seven, so I was aware of the process we were going to face.
“We were drawn to the Fawley because we love entertaining, so the open plan design really appealed to us, and I love the bay windows that fill the room with light. Having the second living room gave us the flexibility to choose what room we wanted to spend time in, whether it was just the two of us or we were hosting friends and family.”
Jamie continued: “We also liked the size of the bedrooms. They’re really well proportioned, and having all our guests on one floor makes it easier when the family bathroom is right next door.”
The development in Sandbach was a change of pace from their usual city living. Jamie said: “Sandbach has a really nice town feel to the place, and we had to adjust to not having everything on our doorstep.
“Other residents are really friendly, and there’s a great community feel. The local restaurants and bars are only a 15 minute walk, so we can spend more time enjoying our night instead of worrying about a taxi home.”
Akram said: “The development has a Facebook group, so it’s great to share updates on what’s going on around the development. We have a lovely bunch of neighbours and it’s nice to be able to say hello, even if we haven’t met before!
“I think I can speak for both of us when I say our favourite part of coming home is closing the door and being able to forget how the day has been and enjoy our evening.”
Jamie continued: “I agree, having the second living room is perfect because we’ve turned it into a snug room where the two of us can make the most of it together.”
