At the age 95, Roman Blank bravely came out about his sexuality to his family.
The great-grandfather, from Los Angeles, has come out as gay in a sensational and brave interview with a popular YouTube vlogger which has gone viral in just two days.
He told Davey Wavey that he’s known he was gay since he was 5 years old. Asked what kind of man he’s looking for, and Roman replied, “I don’t care! I don’t look at their face ― I look at their heart… Somebody who feels a heart ticking. And nobody can do that unless you let them.
“I want to go to sleep and have somebody close to me. Just to be sure that someone has to be someone who cares. That’s all. For you it’s easy. I am too old already.”
Blank has two children and five grandchildren.
In an upcoming documentary, On My Way Out: An Unconventional Love Story, Blank has narrated his life with his wife Ruth that further reiterates how love, marriage and family can’t be captured in lenses of black and white.
