The actress and musician will be joining DIVA magazine with a new monthly column from the September issue.

Peace played Detective Sergeant Sam Murray in BBC Three’s Lip Service, a show about a group of lesbian friends in Glasgow.

As a wife, mother, actress and LGBT advocate she will be writing on a variety of topics. Peace remains a patron of the Peter Tatchell Foundation and is involved with charities, including Diversity Role Models and The Albert Kennedy Trust.

Commenting on her new role, Heather Peace said: “I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be joining DIVA magazine as a columnist. DIVA was an important publication for me when I came out at the age of 19, and being a part of the magazine moving forward is a real honour for me.”

DIVA Editor Jane Czyzselska welcomed the new team member saying: “We’re delighted to welcome Heather to DIVA and look forward to getting the inside scoop on her life as a rockstar mum!”

This is part of a series of announcements since the Twin Media Group purchased the leading lesbian publication in July 2016. As part of an ongoing commitment to the readers of DIVA magazine the publishers have promised a range of new features and columnists.

The September issue is on sale from 12 August.
